Much to be Thankful For!

Unfortunately, I don't have much time. As you may be able to see, it's very late, or early. I just have time to post a quickie while I'm burning files for clients then it's over the river and through the woods, to Grandmothers house we go! Turkey, football and napping - can't wait! Work has never been busier. The Bush economy has worked well and I'm grateful.

There are a lot of things to be thankful for this year. I suggest we put aside the ideological differences for a day and concentrate on those things which we share in common with each other such as living in the greatest country in the history of the world. Do you ever wonder why you were born here and now? I realize the anti-God crowd on the left won't get it, but it's an interesting question. We are blessed to be living in an age where freedom and civility is at an all time high around the globe. Of course there are billions of people who don't enjoy a fraction of what we do here, but it is getting better. I am grateful to have been born here in this age to be able to take part in the opportunities of this society and in this land.

I am grateful to all the men and women of our military who sacrificed so much so that we can enjoy our lives today. It is sad that war exists, but it always has and it always will. That is human nature. I thank God that there have been brave people who were and are willing to stand up and face our enemies and protect that which is right. And yes there is a wrong and right. It is not morally or culturally relativistic.

I am most thankful for a family that is built and centered on love. The closeness and unity we share is a result of a strong bond found only through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Again, I apologize to the lefties who only roll their eyes at any hint of dependence on a supernatural being, but I can't deny what is real for our lives. I can only hope that someday your shell will crack enough for you to be open to the message of Christ. I have been blessed by a great family. My wife is saintly, the kids are great, and my parents and brothers and their families are all very close. This is of course what we celebrate most.

I also am thankful for our President, and all the branches of government that are comprised of people who are willing to serve the public interest. While I don't often agree with many of them, it is the greatest form of government ever devised by man and we are lucky to be living in it. I know that many of you have been deceived into thinking that President Bush is some form of devious mastermind diabolically plotting to destroy the world, but the fact is that we should all be thankful that we have a President who is willing to take a stand and live in a Post 9-11 world rather than the alternatives that have challenged that ideology. Our nation's security is nothing to gamble with.

Anyway, The disks are done and it's time for a few hours of sleep. Happy Thanksgiving everybody, Enjoy the season and be grateful! God Bless.

I don't think Bush is a "devious mastermind diabolically plotting to destroy the world." He's incompetent, a revelation that should have come as no surprise. He spent his formative years as a raging alcoholic. Frankly, I wish he would try to destroy the world. Given the way he wrecks everything he touches, we'd see general improvement.

Unfortunately, you don't go to war with the president you want, you go to war with the president you have. We should be thankful that George Bush kept himself alive in order to spare us from President Cheney. Ullr Bless.

FOX NEWS: Flyober Guy is just about the last Bush supporter in America. The Bloomington Blow-off blames the liberal MSM, Michael Moore, Al Frankin and just about everybody but Bush for the President's demise. With a 28% approval rating, Chimpy nears the all-time low set by another Republican stalwart: Richard Milhouse Nixon [spit].

Worst. President. Ever.

Unlike the president I can correct my mistakes. Much like the president, I must've been drinking when I typed this comment. It should read "37% approval rating,..."

i'm thankful for presidential term limits but fearful of the fact that bush still has three years to really screw up

Jeff and the Vet: God bless you both anyway. Peace and happiness to you in 2006.....

Per Jeff, Bush was a raging alcoholic? Ergo, everything he touches is a disaster? Wow, makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for getting the facts out there, you're awesome Jeff.

Scud, try this: just post "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". Watch the moonbats flock to it like flies on a dog pile and completely mock you and tear it to shreds. The whole discussion will instantly morph to a God-hating, Chimpy is the anti-Christ, raging diatribe against everything religious or conservative. It's hilarious reading this stuff!!!!!!

Even if we take the Bushies at their word, the president is a "problem" drinker. From Fortunate Son, Bush tells us "[A]lcohol began to compete with my energies....I'd lose focus." Although he once said he couldn't remember a day he hadn't had a drink, he added that he didn't believe he was "clinically alcoholic." Even his father, who had known for years that his son had a serious drinking problem, publicly proclaimed: "He was never an alcoholic. It's just he knows he can't hold his liquor."

WRT to his disasters: Bush touched Arbusto Engery Company, Spectrum 7 and Harken Energy Company. If you invested in those companies under his guidance, you'd label them disasters unless you wanted to lose revenue. Bush touched the Rangers; ask a fan of that team to evaluate his performance. The residents of Texas used to like him so I suppose his gubernatorial experience wasn't the incredible disaster that is his presidency. Bush is currently polling under 45% in Texas, but that probably reflects his abyssmal White House performance and not his governorship.

bob: actually the most annoying thing you guys do is confuse Intelligent Design with science.

Apparently it bothers rightard fundies like Bob, when individuals have the audacity to question the existance of God in the same manner that they would question the existance of anything. How dare those liberals not give The Creator a pass. Have a happy solstice you christian lemmings. If nothing else, at least it's real.

That little heathen Peggy Hill used it more than once:

MRS. BUSH: Thanks to all of you for sending in your questions. President Bush and I wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyous new year.

Why do the Bushes hate America???

Tomorrow night Mr. Bush will say the Iraqi army is prepared to defend itself, an impossible task only yesterday. He is going to step up the process of Iraqization and he'll allude to troop withdrawals. He may even present a rudimentary timeline to perfectly match the fall election cycle. Each rightard who assailed Pennsylvania's John Murtha for demanding such action will hail Chimpy for his courageous vision. You see two weeks ago was such a bad time to withdraw.

To all, thanks for making my point. Please, continue, it's fabulous stuff......

How did scud gain such loyalty from you guys? You'll waste your time reading his stuff and ripping on it, but you won't rip on mine. Come on over and give it a go. It'll be fun. I just can't believe you spend so much time and effort ripping on his blog. You are a sad bunch.

I wonder why a Republican lobbyist needed a suite with so many bedrooms:

Wilkes befriended other legislators, too. He ran a hospitality suite, with several bedrooms, in Washington – first in the Watergate Hotel and then in the Westin Grand near Capitol Hill.

I suppose the party in power just needs a lot of sleep. I'm told it's hard work...

So I wanted to see how well scud reflects the area in which he lives. It turns out, he doesn't reflect his neighbors political values at all. In Hennepin County, Kerry STOMPED Chimpy 60-40%. scud was probably the lone jackass on the block with a Bush sign and a W sticker on his SUV.

Nate, good attempt at research, while technically you're right about hennepin county, you're very wrong about my community. Like most large urban counties, Hennepin encompasses the city of Minneapolis which is comprised of both very rich, guilt stricken, limousene liberals and the welfare crowd. Unfortunately for them they are whores to the poverty pimps doling out the cash. They vote left. I live in the part of the county comprised of people that work and understand the value of hard work, education, personal sacrifice, and responsibility. We vote right.
