Media Bias Anyone?

Sheehan
OK, I'll take the bait. Lets rip a grieving mother. No, maybe not. Cindy Sheehan is a woman who lost her son to terrorist zombies in Iraq. There is no way I can fully imagine what that would feel like. I would be angry I know, but I don't think I would be angry at the president. Of course it certainly is her right to blame the president if she wants to. The odd thing to me is that a year ago she had very different feelings after a personal meeting with President Bush. Apparently, she was very impressed with the president, saying that she knew he was sincere and that his condolances were genuine. She said that his visit lifted the spirits of her family. Now, her story is very different. Could it be that some helpful Bush haters got to her and suggested that her story might be different than what she originally stated? Who knows. Like I said, who am I to tell someone how to grieve for the loss of their child. I think it probably might be of some importance to mention that Sheehan's son was 24, and joined the military without any cohersion from anyone in the Bush administration.

The real story here isn't the grieving and angry mother outside the Bush ranch in Texas, but rather, the over the top media coverage it is generating. The lefties in the newsroom have another story they can run with that serves their ideological slant. There are so many cameras in Cindy Sheehan's face, it's a wonder she can breath. I really wish that just one of the alphabet channels of the left would have the common sense to give equal time to any of the hundreds of fallen soldiers' families who are proud of the mission their child was a part of, support and respect our President, and realize, even through their grief, that America is worth fighting for and Iraq and Afghanistan are part of the war on Islamic terror which ultimately will keep us safer. No one seems interested, that I've seen, in doing any counter, positive story. It's just too tempting to be the lazy liberal trash that they are and stick a camera in the face of an angry mother and listen to her spew about how President Bush killed her son. Wrong story, wrong motives, wrong message. Libs lose again.

A big problem with the media is, of course, the fact that a significant proportion of the industry is run by the baby-boomers. The same crowd that dropped acid in the '60's, danced to Hendrix, and hated virtually everything in America. They infected numerous different fields (lawyers) but lots of them wound up in newsrooms: America's watchdog and protector from the Evil Establishment. Whatever. The good news is that many of these same people are now drifting into retirement and nursing homes where they will live out the rest of their worthless lives drooling and soiling their Depends. As their livers, kidneys, and brains breakdown and fail, we slowly will be cleansed from this idiotic generation forever. Good riddance.

disingenuousguy meets disingenuousdrudge. A meeting with the President boosted her spirits but that doesn't mean she was pleased with the policy. At the time of their meeting, Sheehan was critical of the Iraqi policy and skeptical of the reasons for war: "We haven't been happy with the way the war has been handled," Cindy said. "The president has changed his reasons for being over there every time a reason is proven false or an objective reached." The family didn't voice its objections at the time out of respect for the presidency and in deference to how they believed Casey would have wanted them to act. I see nothing here to suggest that her desire for another meeting specifically centered on the reasons for war demonstrates "very different feelings." To suggest she's a simpleton swayed by "Bush haters" based on a partial Drudge quote is disingenuous indeed.

Disingenuousness is not limited to the first paragraph. Failure to support a war justified by 27 different rationales does not indicate that one feels it's not worth fighting for America. Iraq is now a battlefield in the Global War on Terror [sic], but only because the American invasion created a climate in which it could manifest. If this fight is "worth it", then why aren't you there? As a Baby Boomer of 46 years, you could certainly drive supplies from Baghdad to Fallujah. Why don't you go take pictures of all the hard work Dear Leader is performing in Iraq. You could start with the blossoming theocracy in Basra.

If you'd like to wrap text around your images, then use the align attribute. align="left" To control spacing between the image and the text, try the hspace and vspace attributes. hspace="4" vspace="0" All three attributes are placed inside the img tag.

Was that for me? Or just some random web geek info? Either way, thanks.

Maybe you'd like to read the latest news release from the family of Casey Sheehan.

"Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish.

Thanks, Cherie

In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:

The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

Sincerely,

Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins."

No, his mom is not a simpleton as you incorrectly tried to attribute to me as saying about her. But the "hate America" lefties, along with their comrades in the newsroom, are deliberate and deceitful in their attempts at using tragedy, doom and gloom to bludgeon the American people to propagandize and sway opinion away from the truth. Unfortunately you sound like one of those unfortunate "useful idiots" who has bought into the lies of the left. And I don't care if there are a thousand different reasons for going to war as your poorly chosen example - a radical left idiot student's paper for a leftie prof - proposes. Actually it proves all the more why we needed to go to war. How many reasons do you think were given for going to any war? There are multiple reasons, they are examined and re-examined. Other than the conspiratorial twisted thinking of the looney Bush haters, no president wants to go to war unless absolutely necessary.

Why *we* needed to got to war? Last I saw you were in Minnesota, not Iraq.

You make it sound as though Bush had various legitimate reasons for the Iraqi fiasco. Each new reason proceded a previously debunked one. "Weapons of Mass Destruction?" Nope. "Ties to al Qaeda?" Wrong again. "Um, bringing democracy to the Middle East?" Dude, that's not how you sold the war in the first place.

While I despise Bush, it will be hard for him to take the title of Most Hated President. Nixon has a lock on that one.

Cindy Sheehan: what a cheap, self-aggrandizing media slut. Dope smoking, hate-America pig that dishonors her own son for 15 minutes of fame with the stupid MSM. Her own family hates her, for good reason too. What a fool. Rot in Hell Cindy, you verminous liberal filth. Time for a flyby of F16's over Camp Casey...bomb the useless trash into oblivion. A few hundred dead libs that the vultures can feast on in the Texas desert.
