A View From China
I would strongly recommend that if given the opportunity, any American should spend some time in China. Having just spent 2 weeks there, I returned with a healthy love and respect for this wonderful country of ours. Even though the communists in China love their comrades in the Demoncratic Party here in the states, you have to give them credit for still being able to recognize the quality of Hillary Clinton as a candidate, and then demonstrate their reverence for her by using her press clippings as a means to protect the environment from human waste and garbage. How lovely. Yes, the Clintons - in spite of their many backdoor deals with the Chinese military trading technology for campaign cash - still are seen as the trailer trash that they are. Sure, you can dress them up, give them millions of dollars for horrible books and simplistic speeches, but the unmistakable stench of classless insincerity and political immorality follows them around the world - at least to those of us who haven't drank from the Demoncratic Kool-Aid tank.
Overall, I found the Chinese to be very nice people. They were very polite, friendly and respectful of others. It's not often that you see young people stand up on a subway to give their seat to an older person getting on. I guess they haven't been exposed to American TV or Hip Hop music yet. Mainland China seemed to be an ideal demonstration of Demoncratic Party ideals, where those in the "Party" have more privileges, better living conditions and better careers, while everyone else is given the opportunity to experience equal poverty. Sounds like a Hillary or B. Hussein Obama campaign promise. We usually stood out in the crowd as the only white people in the room, but we got used to the stares and the occasional snickers. We did OK with our Chopsticks, ate some stuff that would not have passed FDA inspection and traveled on more forms of mass transit than I ever thought possible. Again, a liberal’s dream come true.
We saw a lot of cool stuff, met some great people and experienced a new side of the world. But in the end, as with other travel experiences, as great as the trip might be, you come away with a deepened love for home. Also, you realize that no matter where you go, people are very much the same. They care about their families, their basic needs and improving their lives. What gets in the way is corrupt and intrusive governments. God willing, this November, America will choose wisely, vote Republican, and avoid the temptation to let government control our individual destiny, providing equal misery for all. Unfortunately the Demoncrats haven’t yet learned that Communism doesn’t work. Maybe they should move to China. They’d fit right in.

Let's see. The country you visited spies on their own people, their government and industry are connected at the hip, they execute their citizens, they practice interrogation techniques which are outlawed in the vast majority of civilized nations,...
Are you sure you actually left Minnesota?
Not to worry, Hillary is dead in her tracks. 2009 will bring us Barack. It's 1976 all over again. We had to endure the worst president in history to get to Reagan. History just repeats itself for those who have such short memories.
Gooberman, take your meds. You're not making any sense, not that you ever have anyway.
No Name, let's not get too critical now. I'm one of Dubya's speech writers.
My Scud, you do sound omniscient and well traveled with the observations made on your trip, "Overall, I found the Chinese to be..." OK so you judged all 1 billion of them on a 2 week trip, whats the secret... I betcha the Chinese looked at you and the Mrs just like you look at Hip Hop folk . What I'd like to do is to fly some Chinese folk to your town so they could go home and say " Overall we found that the Americans were selfish, inconsiderate, fat, and lazy." And for the record I don't support the Clinton Dynasty, but I'd wipe my #ss with my favorite candidates tabloid pic if I needed TP in minute. Also, whats up with B. Hussein Obama, Scud(Aren't you an artifact of Sadaam's mythical WMD's) McCarthy? I can't believe your pulling these same ole fear ploys out, timeless classics, hit em in the amyglada. I mean even the public is wise to the errs of "The Quagmire" these days... took 5 years,(see recent polls), yeah we are getting dumb, fat, and slow. So I'll give you another 2 before your wishing you had a bit more walk behind your talk when your kids have a shadow of the America that's made you the judgmental and condescending person you are today. Dude, BTW, your a food photographer, moonlighting as a political prankster, if you are this country's backbone its no wonder we have become spineless. I nominate you for least useful job in the country, right behind hip hopppers. Also, whats wrong with hip hop? Don't dig the 1st amendment, too many American's too accepting of black arts, or is a daughter dating a negro? Question, have you ever thought of what you actually produce when your "working hard" shooting dishes, I need to contend that you effect no change in the value of anything, your contribution is unnecessary like so many other loathing idiots in this country. The generations that made it possible for you to kick back with your camera & cuisine are turning in their graves every time your SUV pulls into the station for another Saudi Cocktail, or when you buy another POS disposable Chinese thing-a-ma-jig from Wal-Mart, b/c when we were America people with your job and aspirations didn't exist(photographer/poli-blogger) that simple. So do us all (those with value adding professions) a favor, quit acting like you have a voice & something at stake here because your just riding the wave that was going in when you were put out. And what the h*ll is this God willing crap... if we are under God's will right now he has brain damage from too much reefer (hippocampus is shrunk) Well Im gonna get going now think about it, I'll be back.
Jay
P.S. Don't worry I think the Chinese people will be nice benevolent masters when we are subordinate to them because of unsustainable lifestyles like yours.
