I'm a Victim! I Need a Lefty to Help Me Understand

ripoff
I'm mad. I've been violated. While my wife and I were having a nice dinner in a downtown St. Paul restaurant, some no life moron(s) with mush for brains and a steel pipe broke the rear window of my truck and stole my laptop and gym bag. Yes, I admittedly was a moron myself for being so trusting as to leave my laptop bag in the truck, but I figured we were in a nice part of the city, it was still daylight, and we've never had problems there before. Well, I was wrong. So now not only are we the victims, we also end up paying for the damage in the form of insurance deductibles, lost time filling out paperwork, filing reports, talking with insurance people, going to the car repair place, etc. The idiots that did this will get nothing except the short-term benefit of hocking a used Powerbook, buying their crack and hopefully dying of an overdose.

I wonder what makes a human into an animal? I know that what I'm experiencing pales in comparison to what others who have suffered true injustice have experienced with the death or injury of someone close to them. But the basic principal is the same. Someone is so consumed with selfishness and evil desire that they want what you have and think they are justified to take it. Or, maybe they are so self absorbed that their feelings of anger and resentment consume them and their hate becomes apathy toward anything resembling civility and order. Several years ago my cousin was executed by some brainless thug named "Precious" for about $20 in my cousin’s wallet. The whole family was devastated and found it most hard to deal with the senselessness of it. It was impossible to try to imagine the reasons why someone would think it even possible to do such a thing. Then you eventually realize that there actually IS evil in the world and some people are consumed by it. It cannot be reasoned with, counseled or understood. It just is. And because of this reality, good people need to join together and do what is necessary to contain, punish or eliminate it.

I know that being a victim of a crime regardless of its severity is a bi-partisan, equal opportunity event. But I can't help but see the difference in how conservatives and liberals seek to deal with the problem of evil. On a global scale all you have to do is look at Iraq for an example. Liberals look at "insurgency" as a strugle against imperialist agression and not the terrorist evil that it actually is. Or, look at the left's love and admiration of Castro in Cuba. Excusing evil by trying to understand it or to give it credence as just another equivalent way of life is morally confused at the very least, suicidal at the worst. On a smaller scale, look at what Bill Clinton got away with - "it's just sex (or not sex by his definition)", selling missile technology to China, Nuclear technology to North Korea, or the pardon frenzy in the last days of his term. The left quietly turns it's back on inconvenient evil. Or look at what the ACLU spends its time on day-to-day - trying to expunge God from our culture as opposed to prosecuting evil and upholding justice and our constitution. On a local level, there are liberal judges who consistently let repeat criminals off, assigning them to some treatment center or do-good service instead of hard time. The bottom line is that the left continually demonstrates that they just don't get it. They have been morally confused.

I don't hold out any hope that the crack heads that broke into my Subby and stole my Mac, will ever be caught, and, as a Christian, I hope they eventually realize the futility of their path and find a new life through God, but I fear that will probably not be the case. They will probably continue doing this until they get caught enough times that they get locked up for a while where they can be trained properly in upgrading their craft by the many mentors surrounding them. Then eventually they will break in to someone’s house that will be waiting for them with a .44 magnum. The end to a not so satisfying career. We better hope that a good liberal can intercede soon and get them into some sensitivity classes, peer group mediation sessions, anger management and self esteem groups, then all will be well.

I'm sorry about your loss.

Unfortunately, there are many inconsistencies in this story:

1. Republicans don't leave their suburban enclave in order to enter the big city. It's scary and filled with brown people.

2. Subby is a nickname usually applied to a Subaru. In your case, I assume it means Suburban as SUVs are the officially sanctioned Republican form of transportation.

3. Your characterization of crime isn't based on facts. The United States leads the league in criminal incarceration. Sentences in this country are considerably longer than those in other countries. I had two gentleman stick a gun in my face and each is doing 30 years in a Pennsylvania state penitentiary.

4. The ACLU does NOT want to eliminate God from our culture. If there is a connection between God and crime, then God causes it. Among Western industrial nations, nobody is more Godly, nor more violent and criminal, than the United States.

5. Could you provide evidence to support your claim that Clinton provided the North Koreans with nuclear technology?

They stole your gym bag? Why would someone steal something like that?

scud: remember when reagan stole U.S. military property and sold it to iran, a country with whom we had no diplomatic ties, so he could finance an illegal war in central america? how do you justify that bullshit?

Jeff, Jen and anony,
Sure Jeff, God causes crime in the US. Nice logic. Billy boy sent Madeline Halfbright to North Korea to clink glasses with the dear leader Kim Jung Insano. They solidified a deal in which NK would get nuke technology if they promised (wink, wink) to not use their newly acquired knowledge for weapons. Gosh the Clintons were great weren't they? I can only hope that we eventually get the even more evil half of the dynamic duo in '08. You should try looking at other informational sources than hard lefty propaganda rags. You might learn how misinformed you are.

Jen, Yes, they stole my gym bag! Other than the $250 racquetball racket they got (I'm sure they have no idea what it is), they deserve the rest - sweaty shorts, shirts, underwear and a sour towel. They also got some of my studio equipment in another bag. Thugs of this caliber aren't discriminate - whatever they can carry.

Anony, (weird name) you must read the same propaganda as Jeff. I have to assume that you would be one of those commie sympathizers that was, and probably still is, cheering for the wrong team.

It's your own damn fault for not standing guard over your possessions, and shooting anybody who tries to take from you. How careless, how un-American...

thanks Wayne, I won't forget again. You are my hero.

scud: I know all about the NPT negotiations with the North Koreans. Why don't you give the class more factual details so they may see the disingenuous nature of your assertion?

Yo Scud, long time, no post. Sorry to hear about your encounter with the wastes of skin that plague our society. Don't bother asking a Lefty to explain it. You'd have more luck asking a drooling two year old to explain quantum physics. Oh well, nothing a Springfield 1911A1 .45 ACP can't cure. Be sure to use hollow points. Anyway, I'll check back in a couple of weeks. I'm off to a much deserved vacation. I'll be tearing up a lake in my pristine Malibu Response LXi, um, for you Libs who are typically as athletic as eggplants, that's a serious skiing/barefoot/wakeboarding boat. Just picked up a copy of Ann Coulter's "Godless". Oh baby, I've just read a few pages but I understand why it's the best selling book in the country right now. She's simply the greatest. Ann has two things that the verminous Left lack: she's smart, and she's right. She absolutely destroys liberals and oh how I enjoy it so. Hope business is booming for you and your summer is going great (except for that nasty theft). Later dude.......

rightard: what was it about the Ann Coulter book you liked so much? Was it her ctrl-c, ctrl-v typesetting. Does this look familiar? You'll find it almost verbatim in that book of yours. What about this:

Coulter: "The massive Dickey-Lincoln Dam, a $227 million hydroelectric project proposed on upper St. John River in Maine, was halted by the discovery of the Furbish lousewort, a plant previously believed to be extinct."

Portland Press Herald: 'The massive Dickey-Lincoln Dam, a $227 million hydroelectric project proposed on upper St. John River, is halted by the discovery of the Furbish lousewort, a plant believed to be extinct."

Although I'm not surprised that you're impressed....

From page 37 Coulter's new "book":

"[T]he judge called it 'inconceivable' that Tiffany's injuries were caused by wrestling moves. After the trial, Tate's new lawyers admitted that the 'wrestling defense' was 'bogus.'"

From the Parents Television Council:

"[T]he presiding Judge said that it was 'inconceivable' that Tiffany Eunick’s injuries were caused by Lionel Tate mimicking wrestling moves. Indeed, since the trial ended, Lionel Tate’s new lawyers have filed court papers in which they admit that the 'wrestling defense' was, in their words, 'bogus.'"

BTW: Coulter claims the murder occurred in 2001. In the reality-based world, it actually occured in 1999.

Rightard: your challenge is to find attribution for the above cut and paste jobs and this loose paraphrase. (Don't waste your time, there aren't any.) You know what that's called? It's called plagiarism.

What about factual accuracy? On page 95 she says, "In 1966, he testified against Klan member Sam Bowers, on trial for murdering civil rights activist Vernon Damer."

Anybody know who Vernon Damer is? Neither do I. That's how 60 Minutes spelled it in a transcript. Lazy-assed Coulter copied and pasted a transcript error and included it in her "book." BTW: He testified in 1967.

Anybody with half a brain would realize that the so called "nice part of the city" (see: no brown people) is exactly where criminals are likely to strike. They tend to rob people who have things worth taking, not poor people who live in the "bad part of town". Whadda stupid fuck you are.
