Good choice!

SCOTUS SHORT LIST
Thank you! During the 2004 Presidential campaign, the impending Supreme Court vacancy(s) was the big issue out there waiting to solidify conservatives and to finally put an end to, or at least curtail judicial activism. This was probably the one issue that rallied the most support for President Bush over all others. With the announcement of John Roberts as his choice to fill the first vacancy, that campaign promise seems to have not been forgotten. Roberts seems to be the perfect choice for the court. His intellect is undeniable, his character appears impeccable and he seems to have a demonstrable track record of being a strict constructionist, using the constitution as his guide, not world or popular opinion. The other benefit to this choice is that it will make fools of the liberals in the Senate who will not be able to contain themselves and will need to try to shoot down this appointment. It will be like insects to a bug zapper. They won't be able to hold back. Already liberals like Schumer, and Durbin have promised to make fools of themselves by tipping their hand as to how they feel about Roberts. Liberal groups like Moveon are going to attempt to either smear Roberts or do their best to influence the liberals in the senate to vote against him. They will fail. And it will be glorious! Of course there's no assurance how anyone will prove to be as a Supreme Court justice, but given the current tone in Washington, this seems to be a brilliant choice by the President. The confirmation process will be entertaining to say the least. Way to go, George!

Way to go George, way to go America. My erection has been full since first hearing the news about our President's choice for Supreme Court Justice. The Honorable John Roberts is indeed a man of the highest qualifications, and should sail through the confirmation process without hinderance. In fact I, as a conservative, know that he is so astute that he should not even have to be approved by the Senate. In fact, it would probably be a violation of the President's war time powers, if the Senate dared to even question the obviously devine inspired choice of our glorious leader. However, like you said, they will try, and they will fail. Only we must ensure their failure. Are Schumer or Durbin related to any covert CIA operatives we could out? Maybe it's something we should be looking into.

A fantastic choice! Soon the Libs will understand the complete lack sexual enjoyment that we currently hold dear. Once their women realize that each insertion shall yield a child, they will finally understand that fulfillment is found only in an extra large stack of pancakes - with extra butter. If John Roberts should preside like I think he will, then perhaps we can finally realize the conservative dream: impregnation with frozen embryos so that women don't enjoy sex at all.

Women are allowed to enjoy sex? I never read that in the Bible!

You guys are too funny! Not sure where you're going with that Kevin, but it's entertaining. And Will you're right, Biblically it is totally forbidden for physical intimacy to be enjoyable. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's suposed to be as unpleasant as possible.

Yes you are right Kevin because abortion and a woman enjoying sex are somehow linked in the astral plane you are living in. Its called responsibility and theres damn sure not enough of it. Have all the fun you want just know there are consequences if you don't take the right precautions.

You assert "theres [sic] damn sure not enough" responsibility. I'd like to know how you quantify that. I can't pretend to know if there is enough, too little, or just the right amount of responsibility.
